THE WHALER'S RENOVATION OF THE COMMON ELEMENTS WITH A BUDGET OF ABOUT $30 MILLION IS DONE. THE NOISE, DUST ANDAGGRAVATION IS NOW HISTORY. ONLY A FEW MINOR DETAILS REMAIN. THE LAST OF THE ELEVATOR UPDATE IS ALMOST DONE. 1) THE ENTRANCE TO THE PORTE COCHERE WHERE YOU CHECK IN HAS BEEN REDONE AND IS COMPLETE WITH A DRAMATIC IMPROVEMENT IN IT'S PRESENTATION. 2) THE POOL, POOL DECK AND A LOVELY NEW 10 FOOT DIAMETER HOT TUB HAVE BEEN COMPLETED. 3) THE GARAGE BETWEEN THE TOWERS AND COURTYARD HAS UNDERGONE REPAIRS WHICH INCLUDED REMOVAL OF THE LANDSCAPING, SPALLING REPAIR, REPLACEMENT OF THE WATERPROOF MEMBRANE AND REPLACEMENT OF THE PLANTINGS IN THE COURTYARD. THIS WORK WAS COMPLETED AT THE END OF JUNE. NEW LANDSCAPING HAS BEEN INSTALLED AND THE DESIGN INCLUDES A NEW LARGER KOI POND WITH A WATERFALL WHICH IS NOW IN OPERATION. 4)ALL THE ELEVATORS ARE BEING REPLACED WITH NEW AND QUIETER EQUIPMENT AND WILL BE DONE ONE AT A TIME. CUURENTLY TWO ELEVATORS IN EACH TOWER HAVE BEEN COMPLETED. 5)THE CURRENT BUSINESS CENTER ACCROSS FROM THE FRONT DESK IS SCHEDULED TO BE REPLACED BY LATE 2009 WITH A STORE SIMILAR TO THE WHALING SPREE THAT USED TO BE THERE. 6)THE CENTRAL AIR CONDITIONING/HOT WATER HEATING EQUIPMENT HAS BEEN UPGRADED AND THE RESULT IS BETTER AIR CONDITIONING AND IMPROVED HOT WATER AVAILABILITY. 7)NEW FIRE ENUNCIATION EQUIPMENT HAS BEEN INSTALLED AND OTHER CHANGES AND UPGRADES TO MECHANICAL SYSTEMS HAS BEEN COMPLETED.
